silkbulb test [demo]
A downloadable game for Windows
You're late. We were about to start without you.
Through that elevator on your left, please. And then down the hallway - don't lollygag, we're behind enough as it is.
If the elevator stops, under no circumstances should you exit before reaching the correct floor. Repeat that to me please so I know you understood it.
Ok, thank you.
When you get there, take a seat at the center table. The test will begin shortly. Do not speak to the other participants. Do not take any photographs. Do not write down your memories of it. And do not look directly into the slide projector.
What? No, it's a slide projector - it won't do any damage. But you won't be able to see. And we need you to see.
If the test ends prematurely, do be a dear and try again. Sometimes all you need is a fresh mind to a problem to get a different result.
The Test demo is also available on Steam - if that's more your speed.
TO THE PARTCIPANTS:
The controls:
- Left Mouse to interact.
- WASD to move both the player and certain slide mechanics.
- Tab/Esc to pause.
I would highly recommend you wear headphones for the duration of the test.
If anything breaks during the test - let me know and I'll fix it.
This is a demo and is sadly unfinished. Eventually it will be greatly extended to a full test. Until then, I want to know what you like and what you hate so the test can be improved. Like any good scientific pursuit, it requires persistence.
Wishlist on steam if you'd like to take the Test when it is finished.
Join the discord if you have feedback or suggestions for The Test. Or you just wanna frickin hang.

(i made this a while ago idk why drake is in the thumbnail)
Unbelievably scary and terrifying game but really looking forward to the full version!
Late to this one but someone recommended it- awesome game! Horrors that put you in a interrogation environment always stand out, and this one exceeded my expectations. No jumpscares needed, just hardcore stress. Awesome work!
Quite the creepy test you've created here! Really enjoyed how unsettling this one got, truly felt like a nightmare.
Had a good time, thank you![ITA] Faccio i complimenti a Tim per l'ottima idea che ha avuto, un'esperienza davvero particolare!
[ENG] I would like to thank Tim for the brilliant idea of Silkbulb Test.
One of the standout horror demos for NEXT Fest!

Great game with an unsettling atmosphere! I really like these style of games and how such a simple concept can be very creepy!
Absolutely horrifying! I ended up playing this game during my 9-hour Halloween livestream and I was left speechless with how unsettled I was! lol
(started playing this game at around 4:12:18)
I ran into a little issue with the shadows when changing some settings, it looks like the game only works on Medium and Higher shadow settings or else the projector screen will just be white. Not sure if it was just me, lol. It left me kinda confused for a bit, and it got a good reaction out of me.
Overall, this was probably the spookiest game I played during that livestream and would LOVE to see more games you make!

Absolutely terrifying i was absolutely stressing 9/10 from me cant wait to see what you do next! ~Wang
Just checking back in to see if you have an update coming? I really liked the demo and would love to check out more. Spoiler**The way you placed the whisper during the blue screen just destroyed me.
I NEED MORE OF THIS GAME... AND MORE DIAPERS!
Creepy!! Or whatever words that best describes the depths of dark and creep, those are the words that will best defy what I felt lmao
Excellent jobI cannot wait to check out the full release. Great work!
This game was incredibly unique. I need to play more like it.
It also made me panic a few times
One of the best and unique games I played
Cant wait to play it when it comes out as a full game on steam!
Game was short but good. It has all the right elements to be developed into something more. I have nothing bad to say except I was confused at times but that added to the horror part :)
Thank you for allowing us to play your game!
Really sacry, love the sounds and people behiend you as you play.
Wish you add more like that in the future
you're all my friends.. right?
I don't think I was ready for this test.
